Them being no seconder to the motion the matter dropped. Proposed by Cr Micarthur, seconded by Cr Bailey and carried — Tliat the report of the Taonui aud Fitzherbert Committee, dated March Bth, 1884, be adopted and the district as therein defined the districts over which the special rates of one sixth of a penny for Karore, No 1 Ward, and two-fifths of a penny for Bunny thorpe-Kairanga Ward are lo be struck be hereby confirmed. Proposed by Cr Mcßeth, seconded by Cr Bailey and carried— That a poll bt? taken for the construction of the Cheltenham Cross Eoad for the special rate, and the Chairman be authorised ;to give :tho required' notice.
