It appears that a week or ten dayß ago a mob of 660 sheep, for which a clean certificate had been obtained in Marlbore ugh, was driven tlirough to Nelson via Rai' Valley, and on entering tljis provincial district' the aheep v were also passed, and thereupon tbcy^were driven td stoekyards nt RiWimoiid, where ]^r iE.; Price, Sc b Inspector, saw them, arjd be at once detected about twenty inf«cted sheep^ but the mob had decreased during- the journey^ abput sixty having been lost. At last two of tile niis^ipg sheep were .discovored at WakapuaVa. to-Jay, and it is reportett ; _'th"r^e nooj?a inctb%t district arc» J nbw. inlected. There is. no, doubt >hat some one'w 1 greatly to blame, and therft is danger .that a considerable number. of aheepownei's in this' district will lose their clean certificates in consequence. The circumstance has occasioned some excitement here*.
