A.False Alarm. Shirmishing Witli the Rebels {BY ET.-ECTBIC TELEGRAPH. — COPYRIGHT.) ( REUTER's TELEGRAMS.) Cairo, March 11. Telegrams are to hand from Suakim reporting that firing- had been heard m the direction of Zariba, a small town eight miles from Suakim where the second battalion of the Royal Highlanders (42nd foot) and tenth Hussars are encamped, and that the whole British force at Suakim lias been, despatched to the scene of the supposed battle. Later. "Further intelligence has been received from Suakim regarding the fighting which it is believed commenced near. Zariba. The troops despatched from Soukini found that the firing was only duedo.a skirmish which had taken place with a body of Arab rebels who had attempted to intercept the convoys despatched to the British camp at Zariba. The rebels were dispersed without difficulty. It is now expected that a battle betw«eh the main body of rebels under Osman Digneh and General Graham's force will take place to-morrow.
