Paper*) The WellingtQn MT^tJ&poit Company is shipping per British Queen, which is to leave for London on Thursday, 1200 carcases of niuttpn^and th^e Gear Meat Company 4000 carcases, and both axe already pr£J&rjng.fpr $heir next shipment&U These will consist' of 5000 carcases,— per -Ruapehu, by the former, and 'between -5000 fcfiil6ooo, per Florida, by the latter. . These vessels are to leave during; the current montli. ' The New -Zealand Meat Export Company : has .sow exported 32,000 carcases -of mutton, besides a lai-ge quiktity of beef, the balk being during the present season-j and the Gear Company upwards of 20,000 carcases muttdti^ull during ihe curreiit season. During thefpast year New Zealand exported 120,000 carcasen. It need** no lehg-thy calculation to show that there is ever^ probability of Wellington exceeding this total single handed, quite .independent' of the fact that a thifdeompany will ere long^havo a^plant m full operation.
