Cr Macarthur said he would not interfere further m the matter. If the committee wished to go on with the repairs, they could do so. A letter was read from Mr Jamed Linton, Palmerston, re his claim for expenses disallowed at last Council meeting. Crs Skerman and Walker thought that the expenses ought to have been paid if the claim was reasonable. ■:■ . M essrs Bassett and Anderson waited on the meeting} complaining •of being over-rated 12| acres. Kesolved— That the rates !be reduced io an area of 37^ ; acres,.'':' .. ' '. ' ' .' ' Proposed by Cp» Bailey, seconded by Cr Skerman, and carried— -That Messrs P. and J.
