It appears that the men were com* ing down the line m a trolly, when the Natives asking for a ride, no notice was taken of them 'and a boulder or two was fired by the aboriginals, the outcome which is the present proceeding. [We hare since learnt proceedings will not be taken.] Tenders are invited by the Oroua County Council for metalling portions of Pohangioa, Ashurst and Bunnythorpa roade. Woodyear's Electric Circus will be m this district again m about a fortnight's time. It has done very good business since it was before m Palmerston. During his short stay here he gained many friends by his ur« banity and general courtesy.
