We hear that several children have been withdrawal from, the State School in consequence of its crowded condition having caused illness of one, kind And another. The Roman Catholic School is expected to be open for the reception of pupils on Monday next. A large number of people who attended at the Club billard room last evening to witness the match between a Wellington player and a Palinerston resident, were somewhat disappointed when it was announced that the match was postponed until this evening. We are sorry to hear that Mr W. H. Lash has been laid up for some time suffering from a bad abscess. Mr J. A. McElwan, photographer, has a business notice elsewhere. He has started in business in Collinson's old shop, near the Ready Money Store. The Foresters had a very pleasant evening in Woodville last night, and are loud in their praises of the kindness they received. The visitors had a heavy shower both going and returning through the Gorge. With reference to the late suicide in Wellington, Mr Skey, Government Analyst, reports that he found sufficient arsenic in the stomach of Olga Stenesse to kill an adult human being. He also reports that ' rough on rats' is almost wholly composed of arsenic. We learn that Mr D. Clifford, the Square, has become lessee of the Princess Hotel, Terrace End.
