From a . paragraph m the British Trade ' Journal we observe that tho Immigration 'Agent for. New, .South Wales is very desirous. that, the merits of the colony should not esd&pe -iioUce at home, and he is, therefore, ''siipply-v ing British journalists, free ••'.of.; cost, witE a* monthly sheet of 'reliable information,' respecting the social and industrial condition and progress of the colony. The paragraphs are, for the mob,t pa,r*,.weU selected^' and are all the moreM'eliable because the ; wjri tevs do not seek to discredit every other colony except New South Wales. .aNo>;doubt ingenious style of advertising the c6l6ny will meet with 'success. Now, here is a valuable, suggestion for the Government of this Colony. U is'only by keeping* the Colony and Jits, resources prominently before the public that ' the ' right" sort . of . immigration will be attracted towards it. The Home qoiintiy.is ►sadly deficient m" reliable information" of this charac ter, as what information does 'reach it, is for the most part garbled, 1 fictitious,' and misleading. A specially good teaiur'e is the. fact of not seeking, to discredit every other colony. There is no occasion to do this. Let each stand on its merits. , We think might Very -aavsmVageoiisly 1 ioHow the new departure of .the sister colony. The idea, is a capital lone, and thd hint wellworthy of careful :con«idei»tion, rwith* a view at an early period cf giving practical effect to it at the hands of the Legislature.' ' '' ■ -i
