In the House of Commons yesterday Mr Gladstone said that he doubted whether the proclamation issued by the Major-General, Gordon, at Khartoum, had announced that no impediment would be offered to free traffic m slaves m Soudan. He believed that the abstract of proclamation received by telegram was incorrec.
