The Borough Sale. The attendance at the sale at the outset u'as not so large as usual, but before it was halt through the attendance was one of ibe largest that has yet been at a Borough .sale. There was a decided improvement m the bidding, and there was a better demand for all classes of stock, sheep m particular. Prices realized were m excess of reserves m nearly all cases, and with the exception of two pens of cattle, and two of sheep, all the stock entered were sold, those that did not find purchasers under the hammer, being sold privately immediately afterwards. For the unsold lambs, fair values- were offered, but the reserves were too high. The sale on the whole was a most successful one, and was satisfactory alike to the auctioneers and the vendors. There were 166 cattle and 1643 sheep yarded, and there were sold 126 head of cattle and 1290 sheep. The following were the prices realized : — Cattle.— Beef (light), £5 15a; 8- , year-old steers, £4 11s 6d to £4 17s 6d j 2J-year-old steers, £3 10s ; 2-year-old steers, £2 12s 6d to £2 15a ; mixed yenrlings, 30s ; weaners, 14s ; cows, £2 4s to £3 7s 6d. Sheep. — Eat wethers, 9s lOd to 10a 6d; fat ewes, 9s. to 9s lOd; store wethers (good), 7s Id to 9s Id ; store ewes, 5s 6d to 6s 2d ; hoggetts, 5s Id ; lambs, mixed sexes, 2s Id to 6s 2d ; rams, Roniney and Lincoln, one to two and a half guineas. Horses. — 1 1 offered, only two (very poor) sold at £1 and £1 10s.
