♦ Sinkat Taken. The Garrison cut to pieces. No Mercy; Shewn. A Terrible Slaughter. [6t electric tecjjgraph.— covybight-) (reuter's telegrams.) Cairo, February 12. Sinkat which was beseiged by the rebels for weeks past, has fallen. The garrison were driven by starvation to sally out. The garrison were met by an overwhelming force, and were mass-acred indiscriminately, no mercy being shewn. The Governor before leaving the city had all the forts exploded and the guns spiked. The garrison only numbered 600 having been reduced by starvation, and knew what fate was m store for thorn. The defenders only yielded when they could nor. hold out no longer. None were spared all being ruthlessly massacred.
