Another Russian Murder.
Lieutenant Sudiekin' was murdered - a<i St. Petersburg oh December 31st by Nihilists. He was decoyed .into 6ne of -- -their secret -meeting -places^ and tor-turcd-jfor two hours, to compel divulgonce of some police secrets, and when he-, did at last give them ; up, and they ere verified as being correct, he was stabbed to death, as 'a measure of safety to consj>irators. The murdei 1 is attributed to .the instrumentality of Mdme. Walkerstin, a sister of -the lady who, shared m all the attempts against the late Czar, and who was ; finally hanged. A second account i says that 'the late officer was a tall and ' powerful man,and that tojudgefromthe , broken furniture and debiis m the room, he did not die without a hard, struggle. 37 students were arrested on the 9th for complicity m the murder. Sudiekiq's nephew, who was with him at the time, and was severely wounded, and died on <the 17th, without recovering consciousness. The assassination had a most depressing effect on the Czar, who was oh the point of making constitutional Concessions, but it is now said he has firmly resolved on being more stringent than ever. He sent for Count Eolosti, the Minister of the Interior, and violently reproached him • for his lack of energy and iuoapacity. Folosti thereupon resigned.
