The New. .Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited) report on the produce markets fop the week ending 25th January, as follows : — Wool. — Continued broken weather is retarding the completion of shearing to a very serious extent, many sheds under- the hills haying-been almost as a standstill for weeks. .There is, consequently, very little wool coming into store, 5 though we have sufEoent m hand to ensure a large catalogue for the sale on Wednesday next. Tallow and Fat. — A. fair demand was experienced for all brought forward at late rates,, i.e., l£d to 2d for inferior, to medium , and 2£ to 2| fop fail to prime quality rough tat. T«How makes 22s 6d to 325, [according to quality and condition. Wheat — The near approach to harvest has inducted many holders to place their old stock on the market which has led to a more extensive business than for some time past. Good winter wheat has been placed at 3s 6d to 4^ whilst the latter figure is only obtainable for prime tuscan. We learn privately that an extraordinary supply m tho English market has caused a further decline m the prices of Australina and N«w Zealand wheat. Oats. — The demand for good, stout feed continues active, and several transactions have transpired during the week at up to 2s 3d f.ab. Gross Seefds. — Samples of new crop rye grass have, been offering during the week, but we canuot hear of any business passing, buyeia' and sellers' views being too wide apart — the former offer 3s to 3s Bd, whilst the latter expect & 6d to 4s,' The cocksfoot harvest is being delayed by excessive moisture, and unless bright- drying weather is soon experienced, the heaviest of the 'crop will be m jeopardy.
