ST. PATRICK'S CHURCH.

After mass yesterday a meeting was : convened to discuss matters m reference to the establishment of a school for the education of Catholic children. After some discussion it was resolved to advertise for a femalo teacher who is competent to act as organist blso. It was staled that acconimodtition for about thirty children could be provided m the school-room though m excess of that; number would attend. A pastoral was rend from the Bishop deling with the question of tbe c ucation of Catholic children, much to the same purport as he spoke at the laying of the foundation of the convent at New Plymouth, aa reported m the Btan« DiRD of last Wednesday. It would appear that a general agilation on the ques* tion is being set on foot with a view to obtain redress of the grievances that are complained of m the matter of non»asaiatance of denominational schools by means of Government subsides.
