The programme tins' been issued for the races*lo be held on "the 14th March, in \fhich 7 added f tnohey to the extent of £80, will be 'g'iven, consisting of Handt ; cap Hurdles, 15 sovs /Maiden Flat, 15 sbvs; Kai Iwi Handicap, , 20 sovs; living Stakes,' 10 sovs ; District'Handicap, 15 sovs ; and Consolation Stakes, 5 soys. The tirst three and fifth races ate for Maoris only. The horses are | to be ridden by Maori jockeys only in ! ctolors, the rest being open to Europeans. All the ste-warda and officers are Maoris. In anticipation of, the, event a number of Natives have, horses .in training. Kai Iwi is about 10 miles from Wangatfui. Sdyetal Native settlements are in the locality:
