THE BOROUGH LOAN.
As we predicted, the meeting last night did not accept the £5000 Loaq proposals, but decided m favour of a special rate iind no loan at present. Of course, the only alternative now is to under " The Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882,'/ by which £0)00 can .be 'obtained for street improvements. This is probably the course that will next be dealt with by the Borough Council. In the mean time the question need not further be discussed as vi'rlnally it is finally disposed of m the mean time.
