FIRE AT MASTERTON.

A six-roomed cottago, owned by C. Gifford, of Napier, was, burned with all its contents yesterday afternoon. The origin of the fire is unkuown. The house was occupied by a man 1 named Holloway and family. His wife heard a crackling noise while m her bedroom, and ran into the kitchen to asc^rtair the cause. The heac overhead bein^ so great, she went out and saw the l oof m flames. The furniture was uninsured, but the house was insured.
