NEW COACH SERVICE.

(Post.; A great boon has been conferred on the settlers, resident between Wellington and Paikakariki by the establishment of a new daily coach service along that line of routo, Messrs Hall and. Co. having started running a coach which leaves Wellington daily at 4' p.m. for Johusonville, Tawa Flat, Horokiwi, Porirua, Paramatta, Pahautanui, and Paikakariki, reaching the"" lastnamed place at 9 p.m. The return coach leaves Paikakariki daily at 6 a.m.,, calling m order at the abovementioned places and arriving m "Wellington at' 11 a.m. The scenery along the road is^ 80 exceptionally line that the journey is well worth taking for the sake'bf 'the splendid views obtained of Cook Strait, Mana and Kapiti Tslands, <fee. ; indeed the drive is- one of the pleasantest and most pictiuesque m the whole colony, while the charge is only 15s for the double journey. The hotel accommodation at Paikakariki is already very comfortable, but the proprietor, Mr F. Bills, is about to erect a much larger and more, commodious building, m <-riew of the extension of trade whicft he sees veason to anticipate. Messrs Hall and Co. deserve great oredit fof 1 the enterprise they have displayed m commencing this service, and we hope they will be well supported. Theip plant is new and of excellent quality, the coaches comfortable nnd well-horsed, and the drivers exceedingly oareful, while provision has been made for snch changes of horses as shall ensure the animals being always fresh and efficient. For the benefit of those who are nerypus about' the Paikakariki hill, we may mpntion that tlje claugwous parts of the road, have now' been, thoroughly protected with fencing.
