Captain Lightfoot, of Nelson, presided. It ■was resolved, to adhere to annual instead of triennial meetings. It was stated ithat there were 1200 firemen m the .colony. The election of officers resulted ; as follows:— President, Captain Amos, Timaru j Vice-Presidents, Captain vCummins, Wanganui, and Captain Hughes, Auckland. Mi- Robertson, of Dunedin, was elected secretary. It vwas resolved to hold the next' conference m Chrblchurch, and to have a Brigade demonstration there next year. It was also resolved to apply to the Government for assistance. The conference then clqsedUwjth the usual,votes of thanks. „
