Preparations for War. China Making Resistance. 111-treatment of French Missionaries. (by electric telegraph.-copyright) (reuters' telegrams,) London, January 14. Telegrams have been received here reporting that the Chinose Government has decided to oppose the French operations m Tonquin, and that a strong body of Chinese troops has commenced to advance towards Bacninh, wftb a view to occupying the town and holding it against the French. Hong Kong, January 13. News is to hand from China that the French missionaries have been malt'e&ted by the populape m several Chinese cities, qqd some of them have been imprisoned by the Chinese authorities.
