A correspondent of the Colonist report a r violent thunderstorm m that district e^rly-oo the morning of the ninth. While Mr G. Hislop wa« at breakfast; his -house, was struck by Ughtuing, wiicfc split the corner from top to bottom, tearing away the weatherboards and-lioing, and passing •long the gtouud plalefe ahd'gi'buud for 40 feeti-Xj'ten, exploding and throwing up earth. Mr, Hislop. was thrown to the ground, and hisjvr ife and two children who were mli co«r-shed close by, were also thrown down, but were not seriously injured. ■■
