Dr Rosenberg and his seconds who were concerned m the shooting; of Count- ..Stephen Babtbynny m a duel near Temesvar, m Hungary, on October 255, have been arrested. The cause of the duel seems to have been this : — Count Batthyany was married last week m Wiosbaden to Miss Ileua Sehosborger de Fornva, the beautiful daughter of a wealthy banker m Buda-Pesth. Fraulein Schosberger became the bride of the young Count most unwillingly. Last year she had met Dr Julius Rosenberg-, a rising solicitor, at Pesth. He fell m love witli her, and ,his feelings were fully reeipooated. The parents seemed inclined to favour the growing intimacy- till Count Batthyany made his appearance, proposod to the young lady, and .was accepted 'by her -patents. She, however, declared that she would marry no one butDr Rosenberg, wbereupon her parents took her to Marieubad, where Count Batthvany, a few hours after their arrival, also made his appearance. One morning Fraulein Schosberger went out very eai'ly for a walk and , returned home Frau Hosenberg. Her lover had arranged with her to meet m the neighbouring town of Kger, and the.ro they were married according to the Jewish rite, The young lady not being of a»e, and certain legal formalities having been neglected, Heir Schosberger declared the marriage null and void, departed at once with "'his 'family from Marieubad, and kept his whereabouts a secret. Dr Rosenberg, however, obtained information as to where his wife was hjd'lfJn, and appeared on the scene —a Paris b,otel— to demand her. A revolver was pointed at his chest, au.d he retired. The Schosbergers, left Paris immediately after this, and Dr Rosenberg again tried to find out where they were, but m vain. Th« next informa-
