t The Auckland Walking Match, Edwards Victorious. (BY TKLEGRAPH.) (united press association.) t Auckland, January 6. X .The six days' walking match for 1100 'aside, Edwards v. Arthur and Jamei Bendry and Huckstep, terminated at 11 o'clock last night. Htickstep, the third competitor, -m the second term finally retired at 9.15 with sore feet. Hw re- • cord was 6L miles 12 laps. Edwards's score at the close of the match was 471 miles 19 laps. The aggregate score of his opponents was 462 miles 11 laps. Edwards thus won by 9 miles 9 laps. The Theatre Royal was "crowded te suffocation. Three cheers were enthusias* tically given for Edwards, who is to be accorded a complimentary benefit on Monday night. He did not appear much fagged at the finish of the match.
