THE LORD MAYOR'S SHOW.
Among«t the novel features of the Lord Mayor's procession on November 9 (writes the London correspondent ot the Otago Daily Times) was an allegorical trophy of an appropriatelydecorated car, drawn by foui(horse Sj representing the colonies of Australia exhibiting bales of wool an& other products, also certain distinctive plants and animals, attended by two colonists attired as stockmen.. A still more elaborate trophy, borne on a similar car, represented the Empire of India, ornam.ented with animals, plants and products distinctive of the country, at- ! -^$4 by n »tive dignitaries m costume, and followed by two Indian elephants. Another interesting feature of the«how was a car containing 30 or A0 carcases of New Zealand.frozen mutton,' exhibited by the Sraithfield salesmen, Messrs Ward and Stimson, who have taken so great an interest m the intrbdgction of colonial .meat to th,e public, lne exhibition was very heartily cheered. r '
