Maori Emeute with a Survey Party, i , . . (BY TRfcEGRAPH.) (united press association.) Auckland, January 3. Mr Gussin'a survey party ia busily en • gaged on the triangulation ' surrey of the King Country. On starting, and when they reached tha Punui river, the first and most probably the only interference they, will meet with was presented. A number of Maori?, both men and women, collected on the bank of the river. The women commenced by getting hold of one or two of the survey party's traps and throwing them into the river, the native men' standing by and laughing, while the women continued the struggle for a few minute*. The survey party, however, got all safely across the river, recovering the swag, or two first thrown m, and they then proceeded to Kakepuku, where they camped, and subsequently they re«erected the first trig-station.
