At the 80d fence at the east end of the straight Barbary threw his jodfey, Edwards, dislocating his collar-bone, and his race was at an end. The race was reduced 16 three, Clarence leading, followed by Chandler and Hercules. At the water course Clarence fell, but liuhn was soon in the saddle and m fulVchase, Chandler with a good lead, and Hercules running up. This order was n^aintaincd over the double, and on the second round, Lunn gaming, Clarence «ame to grief in crossing the stone wall, and tumbled on his back -iwith Luni under him. Lunn was' again in the saddle, and in chase- Chandler and Bercules reached the last hurdle abreast, but Heriuietf/swerved, whne Chandler cleare4-it steadily.
