Store cattle at present values leave a fair margin for fattening, and, with a possible rise diring the wintertfor fat, they should be a good investment at ihe rates now ruling. The holidays inter* 1 fered somewhat with the sale to day, though I succeeded m placing all the cattle and tbe bulk of the sheep after the auction, fcheep showed a slight downward tendency at the sale to- day. The ] following, are quotations at the St Hill Said Yards. -. Cattle.- Fat bullocks, L 5 to L 6 7s 6d ; steers, L 3; heifers, L 2 ss; cowe,.L2 2a.6d; yearlings, ' ■ . ■ Sheep.— Fat ewes made 10s 3d to 10s 6d j ewes and wethers, 9s 6d j wethers m wool, l&s':'- ewes and lambs, 103 6d.
