DEATH OF A CHINAMAN.
A Chinaman, whose naniS' we have not learnt, died yesterday. He had : been living ..with another Chinaman, a 'vegetable . vendor, named John, who . cultivates a.. piarket garden iv Churchstreet. The (deceased had been ailing for some considerable time, but it does not appear, that medical aid had been called m." After lie was dead one of the neighbours wjis called to see "what was the, matter.'^ 1 The-man apparently had then not long been dead.. It is probable a coroners inquest, will have to he held to ascertain the cause of death, and tbe services of an interpreter may also be found necessary, Then by and bye the bones will have to be " resurrected" and "sent to the Flowery Land m accordance with usual custom. Ihe Heathen Chinee^ though economical during lifeX is costly to th < public purse and to his L friends and relatives after his decease. ' ■"•' [Since the above was m type, we i learn that the police have decided that r no inquest is necessary, the death hav--1 i"g apparently resulted from natural causes.]
