The Labour Market. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Napibr, Dec. 24. Great complaints are made by farmers and ruuholders of the scarcity of labour. : (Post.) As a envious commentary on the alleged scarcity of employment m Canterbury we may mention that no fewer than 30 men who were working for one contractor on the WellingtonMaimwatu Railway, left him on Saturday night for Christchurch to take work m the Canterbury district. These men were receiving 8s a day on the Wellington contract.
