LARCENY AS A BAILEE .
fteorge Gages, alias Henry Williamson, was brought up at the Wellington Police Couit on Friday, charged with the larceny as a bailee of two horses, two saddles, and two bridles;* the property of JJobt. Soinervilte. The evidence showed that on the 13th November the accused hired the animals, saying he was going to Porirua. Neither he nor the horses came back, and on enquiries being instituted it was' foiiwd that the ., prisoner had sold them at Otaki— one to a young native at Taipua, and the othfii- to a Baddjer named Ben jaaiin Pepper. The evidence of the Alaoiji witness was tmiißlated by Constablß Carr, of Otaki. The prisoner was committed for trial.
