(united press- association.) Christchurch, December 16. Messrs Holleaton and Mitchelson received a deputation from the unemployed working men at the City Council offices last night. They were addressed..by the Mayor, and Messrs Montgomery, Holmes, Wynn Williams, and White, who strongly urged the nacesaity of finding immediate, work. The married men unemployed represent 1234 persons m destitute circumstances. Three hundred and Beven signed the petition. The Ministers said they would consider what could be done and let the Mayor know on Monday. A large orowd , of. men were outside waiting' to know the result, but were very orderly.
