A ltirge'r than usual ffiusteu'offstore cattle met with a bri«k demand at .satisfactory prices. Pat cattle were yarded m less-than usual numbers. Steers were at last week's values, but cows scaicely -'maintained <■■ previous i J prices. ".:■ . , Shejep; both fat and store, were abundant. Last week's prices— about 2|d the lb "for wethers, was the ruling value. A full maiket of smallsized pigs of good quality sold freely aud brought 3£d the lb. . Cattle — The supply has been good., Springing cows have not been m brisk demand, but all other descriptions have; sold at. Bj shade m, adfance of the pre-, vious week's rates. The entries for, the fuh* at Papaknra were less numerous | than on the previous month. There was a very large muster of stores at; Newmarket on Tuesday, and again ati the regular monthly sale at Papakura on Wednesday. Dairy cows were not yarded m large numbers, but wore quite sufficient for requirements. Fat beasts were yarded m less than average, quantity, ana advanced m value fully 58 per head. Pticcs for steers were fully maintained, and heifers were relatively lower m valu\ Sheep were plentiful. Well fatted wethers fully maintained their value bui lightweights were a shade lo<ver. Lambs were fairly plentiful aud sold Ss 9d to 15s 6d. Pigs — Very few yarded, demand good.
