THE FATAL GUN ACCIDENT.

T At the inquest to-day on the body, of the lad Street, the evidence showed that young Hawkes had received from his father a bag containing the wages of the meriat the mine, of which Hawkes, Senior, is the manager. The accident occurred m Mr Hawkes's hit, m which the boys were. Young Hawkes said, "Suppose anyone were to come through the window after the money/" and he pointed the gun at the window. One of the boys, named Baron, told him to take care or there might be an accident and Hawkes then lowered the gun: As he ; was lowei ing the trigger, his finger slipped, and tho gun went oflfi killing .deceased. Hawkes waR accustomed to a rifle, hawing been drilled at school, and he was accustomed to shoot with a gun. HawkeS and Street were cousins. A verdict of accidental death wjsis re turned.
