An expedition sanctioned by the Royal Geographical^ Society, is now being organized, for the purpose of ex* ploring New Guinea, and is expected to ' start at an early 'date. Telegrams to hand from Zanzibar • reports the bombardment of Madagascar coast towns again being resumed by Admiral Galliber, atid that the French war vessels have shelled several placea on the North and South Coasts of Madagascar. The report current yesterday ihat a peerage will shortly be offered to ' ) Tennyson, is now confirmed. Cap-town, December 4. News ia to hand from Ba»ntoland to the effect that the native tribes have agreed to accept Imperial rule and that the Chiefs had tendered submission to the British authorities.
