THE RUTLAND HOTEL.
At a meeting of P, W. Evans' creditors "held yesterday it was resolved that tbe trustee, Mr Notman, be instructed to close tbe hotel forthwith, and to sell; the stock and furniture by aucliou within a fortnight. In moving this, Mr Paul pointed out that, had Mr Walt seen his wav clear to have reduced the rent, the Trustee could have sold the lease to a man of means, who was satisfied with the town Htid the hotel, Mr. Watt preferred to act like Shylock and have hia pound of flesh, though he was doing so at the ekpense of tbe creditor?. — Mr Rteele, as representative of the Bank of New Zealand, seconded, the motion. — The resolution was put and carried unanimously.
