It aj peared that prisoner had eloped with Mrs Treloar^ from Oamaru. He was formerly engaged to. Mrs Treloar, but 'wfent to England, and , on his return foiin^jSjb.e had married. Her husband w|isJ^wj^; irooi; b,oinf>, and the ; two . •camß on to Cnrijstohurch,. the woman taking some of her husband's property w[th,hcr.. It .was this prisoner was charged yrith stealing'. His Worship, remarked that it was a case of larceny; by implication, and there vould . be no caise Unless 'adultery could be proved. Inspector Pendor said prosecutor was hot in a position to piove adultery. Tieloar; informed th&Benoh that he was not anxious to proceed with the case, as his wife had. promised, to. return with hijm to Oatnaru, and he was fcatisfied. Pttsoner was then discharged.
