The Borough is inviting applications for the combined post of care-taker of the Square and poundkeeper, and also for that of ranger. It will be seen that the bakers have combined to fix the price of bread at 4d the 2lb. loaf and 8d for the 4lb loaf. A gray half-bred Arab mare, belonging to Mr F. Palmer, has just had a foal which is something of a curiosity. It is by Morpheus, which sire is a bright chestnut, but the progeny referred to is a pie-bald, the particular marks of that unusual combination being very distinct. We are glad to learn that Mr Linton's health keeps on improving, and to-day he was considerably better. Mr D. M. George's new advertisement will appear to-morrow. We notice that this establishment has engaged the services of a first-class dressmaker and milliner who has come to the Colony direct from London per lonic.
