Feilding, Nov. 28lh, 1883. Present — Councillors Macarthur (Chairman), Bailey. Mcßeth, Douglas, Sly, Walker,, and Skerman. Proposed by Cr Sly, seconded by Cr Skerman, ami carried unanimously— f ' That Ms- D. H. Macarthur,. be appointed Chairman Oroua County Council. Proposed by Cr Douglas, seconded by Cr Sly and carried — That the sum of £70 voiod by the Manawatu County Council as subsidy to Halcombe Local Board for street improvements be paid by this Council on completion of works to the sa'isf action of the County Engineer. * , j _ . Proposed by Cr Walker, seconded by . Cr Sly and carried— -That a .license be , granted' to' G. -tumble to slaughter m C. M'Kenzie's. old yawl, Ashurt, and lie be charged the sum of £1 till end of the present year. f .. , Letter read 'from Manawatu County Council ye £40 interest said to be owing by Oroua County Council from April to September. / Discussion as to liability of ihe Orona County Council since an adjustment of accounts had been arrived at some time back. . : It was ultimately decided to admit claim, although the amount could not legally be enforced It was equitably.
