It was at one time feared a general conflagration was imminent. Some day the dread event will take place. Judge Hardcastle is indisposed with an attack of neuralgia in Wanganui. The well-known horse May King has been gored to death by a bull which;got him in a corner of a paddock. The foundation stone of the Freemasons' Hall, Wanganui, is to be laid on Saturday, with the full ceremonials of the Craft. There was some talk in Wanganui yesterday of getting up a requisition to the Mayor asking him to convene a public meeting to consider the action of the Education Board in dismissing its Inspector. The death is announced in the Masterton Daily of Mr Job Freeth formerly of Turakina, at the advanced aged of 82.
