Poripori Whataoi, the head of the Ngatingatonga tribe, against whom a decision m the Waotu case before the recent Land Court was given, having failed to obtain a rehearing of his case* has gone on to the block with his followers with the object of ousting Harry Edmonds and his people. They . commenced by digging trenches across Simonds' private roads through blocks, and by felling trees across the road through bush, thus bringing the 'timber cutting operations to a standstill. Simonds has resorted to civil law for a settle* ment of the question.
