A large attendance is expected at St. aiary's Cathedral to-morrow, when Bishop Redwood will deliver a panegyric upon the deceased prelate. Melbourne, September 19. Nothing further was transpired regarding the robbery of the Commercial Bank of Australasia last night. The stolen notes are useless having been cancelled. In the Legislative Assembly this evening Mr James Service, Piemier, replying to a Question, took occasion to remark that' Lord Derby has completely failed to appreciate the importaiico to Australia of the daportation of French convicts to the Pacific islands. He declared that if England permitted this deportation, the colonies would themselves be obliged to devise means for preventing convicts landing on their shores. • Ho considered that the French proposal to populate Pacific Islands with criminals from French cities is contrary to the koowledged principles of International,comifcy,and justifies the abrogation of any agreement between the Eng» lish a-id French Gbvernineats with regard to those Islands.
