THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION.

(TO the editor op the standard.) Sir; — I quite agree with your correspondent "Ratepayer," that the candidates for the Borough election should meet their fellow ratepayers face to face, and explain what views they hold as to Borough financing, &c. Bat Sir, why does not the Old members show an example and lead the way ? Why before asking to be elected do they not render, an account of their stewardship ? I heard some of these very gentlemen complain that the Hon. Mr Johnston did not meet, his constituents. J think they might " take the mote out of their own eye" before they remark about others.— l am, &c.,— Jake.
