Telegrams are to hand from China* reporting that fifteen thousand Chinese troops have, crossed the frontier into Tonqum, and that an outbreak of hostilities with the French forces may be expected shortly. The intelligence is not yet, however, confirmed. It is announced that the British force now m occupation of Egpyt will be shortly reduced to three hundred men. Withdrawals will -be matY during October and November.
