Septembers. • A barmaid at one of the leading hotels, feeling inaulted by some remark made to her yesterday by an individual notorious for hi? attention to the fair Bex, told him he would hear more of it. She waited upon the alleged insulter this afternoon at his office, and producing a horsewhip from beneath her dress used it pretty freely across his face, neck, and shoulders, and to, such an . extent that he did npc" consider flight ignominious. The aifair lias naturally caused a good deal of excitement.
