Severe Burricane.

The Cygnet has arrived from Samoa, and reports a hurricane m the islands, With the loss of the whaling barque Jfispeculador 'belonging to Thomas Henderson* iun. No lives lost. The mBurances are not known. A number of other vessels were wrecked at the same time, fehe brought up Captain Irvine and the crew (17) of the Especnlador. Captain Irvine gives the following:; ac*' count of the storm :— A heavy bailed thunderstorm passed over the Habaar v Group on the I2th August. Cygnet <aiid Especulador, of Auckland; , were off Levuka. At 10 pirn. the wind increased to a strong gal« from the W, shifting to N W. ; .
