Wreck of the Alma.

John Patsn* son,; master of the . vessel, deposed that the Value of- the Vessel was £1800, and of the cargo £650. It j.was , his first trip In the vessel, which was not swung prior to sailing. He had no deviation card for the compass. She struck on Elizabeth reef at 12 30 a.m.: on the 3rd August* The weather was calm, bat dark. He abated that the mate was m charge when the vessel struck; but Alexander Shaw, the mate, said he had gone below to call the captain, and was not on deck for 15 minutes before striding. The crew were all sober. There were only two men on deck when she struck. All were 1 saved m the boats. The Court deferred judgment, • ; .;
