Weather forecast for 24 hours trom 9 a.m. to-day :— Wind, between north-east and south* east m both Islands. Barometer, further fall at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth, falling within 12 hours from thence southward to Lyttelton and Hokitika, further rise elsewhere. Sta, heavy on Eastern Coast, northward of Lyttelton, and moderate on West Coast. Warnings for easterly gales and heavy rain were sent to all stations north of Napier and New Plymouth yesterday afternoon, and have to-day been sent to. all East Coast stations from Napier southward to Lytielton. : Synopsis of last 24 hours: Everywhere northward of Napier and New Plymouth the barometer has fallen steadily; it has continued rising slowly m all other parts of the country. There has baen a strong southerly gale on the Coast between Lyttelton and Napier during the night. S. A. Edwin.
