Waste Lands Board.
The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Waste Lands Board wa» held at Wellington on Thursday . Present :— Messrs H. Runny (m the chair), W. W. Tay'or, and T. Mos<jn. Another application was received from Mr R. X Simpson for the purchase of Crown Lands adjoining section 114 and 115 m th« Paraekaretu Block, and it wan ra~ j solved ,to ; grant the request, Mr A. I Milne being requested to value the land The reportof the Chief Surveyor tor tor year ending 80th June last was laid on the table, and it was resolved to send h copy to the Government, and draw attention to the references made to the •necessity for forming roads m the PohanginA Eaat District An application from Mr WiVi 'Ui Corbett ta have th name of Mr James Igo lhser ed m place of his own on the license to occupy a sec-tion-in the Makuri Block was agreed tp. A letter was read from Mr H. Baker, of Woodville, asking* permission to erect a log fence to protect live fence he pro posed planting. It was resolved thai the Board can take no action m th** matter. The Chairman brought under notice of the Board the case of a deferred payment sett!e£in the. Kairanga Block, Who had obtained leave to transfer his interest m August, 1882, but .had never fulfilled the conditions, nor had he answered several letters addressed to him; oh the subject. It -/as resolved to inform him that, unless the conditions be complied with immeliacely, the section will be forfeited. There w*re sold duiing the fortnight 575 acres 2r 16p . realising £487. -0$ this, 476 ' acres were disposed of tor cash at £238. and i 99acres 2r 160 On deferred payment for £249, of which amount £12 9s has been paid. The total paid m cash was £250 9s. ,',!.:
