• % In the Legislative Council on Tuesday, Mr Wilson, without notice, asked the Premier, if, m the event of the Irish informers being brought to these waters, would they be permitted to land? Tbey were not only informers j but criminals of the deepest dye, and certainly would prove the reverse of desirable colonists; {Cheers.) The Premier said that nobody had a greater horror of the fearful crimes committed by these people than had the Government, There was, however, a great deal to be said with regard to hounding down these informers, as m that evant a great difficulty would be experienced m obtaining Queen's evidence. Personally, he thought the Imperial authorities should have consulted the colonies before sending the men to the colonies. However, the matter was engaging the greatest con*, •ideration of the Government. (Cheers.)
