Our agent writt-s as follows :— " The copies of the Standard which have reached me have caused a very favourable impression wherever I have sh«wn them. People here cannot understand how the Colonies support such good newspapers. Would you believe it there are provincial towns m England with ten and fifteen thousand inhabitants which have not a daily paper. Several merchants to whom I have shewn the copies express their intention of making out advertisements, whioh i will forward by first mail. I believe some of them will try to d^ busiuoßß direct with your district, about which they asked me many questions, which, of course, I waa not m a position to answer, but referred them to you."
